Where have I been?

Seriously, where HAVE I been?
Mainly here. Hello.
I think it has been several months. Let's see...what have we been doing?

Well...

Sarah Crosk got married! This means she is now officially an adult and has to do adult things like cooking proper food and...I dunno...what do adults even do? Ooh - she can't watch cartoons any more. Ha! Shame.
Poor thing.

I made an Adventure Time hat! If anybody in the world would like to see it, I will take a photo and post it soon. Not that anyone really cares that much. Google 'Finn Adventure Time'. You see that hat? Yeah, I made that. There you go. You've pretty much seen it now. Congrats.

Anyway, I got distracted...

Yes, Sarah got married to a boy. Bleurgh!

It was scary.
I made a fascinator and it looked something like this...

Well...exactly like that actually. Considering that is a photo of it. Yep.

I also made tiny flowers for the tables...

...so many that I never want to look at them ever again! But they are cute, so that's nice. If anyone wants any handmade wedding decor, then please get in touch! Sarah made bunting and it was awesome. And many other things but I do not want to post all her photos on here in case she does not appreciate it.

It is coming up to the new year now. This means we have to come up with resolutions and be positive about the year to come. I am working on a list. If I do not complete my list by the end of the year I will cut my fingers off. Probably not that, but I will be disappointed. It is important for me to write a list anyway as evidence, and then this time next year I can look back at the list and think 'yayy I did all those things, I am super awesome', or 'oh poop I better get on with that for the next couple of days so I don't have to cut my fingers off'. I do need them for knitting after all.

Anyway this is enough ramblings for one evening. And I have a headache.

Ooh I also made a scarf! See, I have been busy!! Maybe a tiny bit anyway...

Laters loves.

Wonky Exclamation Marks are Banned on the Train...

If found, they will be taken away by tentacles.

Just to avoid any confusion.

Edinburgh is nice, init?

So hi there gravy granules.
Granules doesn't look like a proper word there. Strange. Anyway I haven't written anything for ages. That's not strictly true - I wrote many words today at work - but I don't mean that, dingleberries. I mean to say that I have been completely neglecting my bloggo. Which must be a massive disappointment for all of you imaginary people who are reading this. Hi there! Welcome, stranger! Pull up a pew! Which is a foolish thing to say, as you can't really pull a pew - they are pretty much benches. You'd all have to club together and do a '3, 2, 1, pull!'

Er...anyway. Clearly I've been on my own all day and haven't had anyone to talk to. Everything is coming out in one go. Oh dear.

SO!

We went to Edinburgh. Pretty there, ain't it? Had a lovely time and saw Roy Walker and everything, and only took one photos the whole time...

Flying ducks

This lovely wall in White Stuff! Lovely duckies. Harry Hill's exhibition was on there. He has a strange obsession with Chris Tarrant. But then, who doesn't?

I saw Josie Long and she was funny and she spat on the floor and she said the c-word and I want her to be my girlfriend please. Thanks. Okay bye.

OOH - also I have been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to make the stalks of my flowers look normal. Here is one version.

Buttery Biscuit Base?

I've looked at them for too long now and I hate them. I don't know if they are pretty or not, but there you go. You decide, Marcus Bentley.

Actual made stuff...finally...

What uuuuup?!? Uploading photos and watching Veep. Fun times are being had in my flat right now.
So I've FINALLY uploaded some photos.

First of all, Kenny's present is finished!

Fish hat! Yayy! I'm not sure if it looks ridiculous or not but it's cosy and will keep your ears warm in the winter, so at least it is practical. Sort of.

Sometimes I get a bit carried away. This explains the following photo, which occurred one Sunday afternoon.

Flower rings

I made some flower rings. Just a couple. They are knitted from scraps of yarn, with a button in the middle. The buttons are lovely - I bought a huge bag of buttons for £5 at a boot sale in Wycombe a while back, and picked out all my favourites to put on rings. These are just a few...I have a lot more, but not enough fingers :(
The scrabble words in the picture are also rings. I have a whole load of individual letter rings too, which I like to make my own words out of. Fun fun.

And finally...my flowers! I love these bad boys. Not sure if anyone else in the world will also like them, but here are a few examples. I think the small ones would look good as bridesmaids bouquets, and the larger ones for a bride. Now I just have to find someone who agrees!

Small white bouquet

My other half with a small red bouquet. No one needs to see that face.

Larger bunch of cream flowers

Well, I think that's enough photo business for one day. I am sleepy.

Nighty night.

Edward Billig

I have covered the following post because I don't particularly want anyone to read it, but I want to be able to read it. There is probably a fancy way to do this, but I am not particularly clever and so this is all I could come up with. So ignore this! Thank you :)

Two years ago today. That is when we lost him. I still spend every day thinking about him. Everything reminds me of him. A girl at work mentioned that her boyfriend is a Tottenham season ticket holder and I immediately wanted to tell her that he was. 'Was' still sounds so weird. So far I've managed to successfully avoid seeing his friends, who always make me miss him even more and make me more aware that there is someone missing.

Mainly I am still filled with regret about it all. How much I let him down. How I should have been there. I remember vividly the days leading up to the 20th. Friday night spent txting each other silly anagrams of Ryan Seacrest's name. Planning to see him on Saturday for his birthday drinks.

I spent Saturday baking him a sudoku birthday cake. After I had finished it, I thought it wasn't good enough. It looked crap and I thought he wouldn't be impressed. I had been knitting Edd a duck as a birthday present, but it wasn't finished. I txted him to say I wasn't coming for drinks but would meet him in the week for the football. He tried to convince me to come out. I remember a txt saying 'but I've put fresh sheets on!' (he knew I loved the smell in his flat when he put fresh sheet on). But I said no. He replied simply 'Thanks', and that's the last we spoke. I sent him a message on Facebook on his birthday, but I have no idea if he read it or not.

I can't help but feel that things would have been different if I had gone. If I had been there, he wouldn't have gone to the gym. On his birthday. Two years on and I still can't help but feel like I've completely let him down. I wish he was still here so much and I regret being such a crap friend.

People always say it gets better with time. It has been two years. I will never stop hurting or missing him daily. I still love him so much and regret all the times I said no to him more than anything.

It hurts me when I want to look back at things we've done together and we have no photographs of us. We do have a few odd photographs that mean nothing to anyone else, but mean a lot to us. Well, here's one picture that brings back some lovely memories of time well spent.

Edward Billig, I will love you forever.

Car Boot Heaven

Word up.

So this is what we got from car boot heaven!

I have kindly labelled the items. It was a most successful day! I am planning to turn the dominoes into rings. Hopefully they will look nice. The wedding gloves are a present for the other Crafty Crosk who is getting married in October. Yep. I am THAT nice. It is her entire wedding present. It's the thought that counts, right?!

American Splendor is a brilliant film about Harvey Pekar, who wrote comic books. That description doesn't make it sound too brilliant but it really is. The comics were autobiographical, with him talking about everyday stuff, and he even wrote about his treatment for lymphoma. Little bit harrowing but overall pretty brilliant.

Moving swiftly on, I had a bit of a spurt with the present making...

What could it be?! What could it be?!?!

Just a few odds and ends to add in/tie on and then it is finished! Exciting stuff.
THEN I will finally finish off my lovely bunch of knitted flowers to dazzle everyone with. Yayy!

Seacrest out.

Charity Shop Shop

Hey ho,
Been a very busy person of late...charity shop shopping in Surbiton (detailed below), Birmingham shopping with the other Crafty Crosk (involving spending what felt like hours in a bead shop trying not to buy everything, and adopting a dwarf hamster), and mega-car booting on Sunday...which I will post a picture of later.
A small charity shop run on Friday led to the following find...

Now I know it doesn't look like much more than a children's craft set, but it is so much more! It cost a tiny £2, and look at all the cool stuff you get!

Yeah boyeeeee!! I may have received a funny look purchasing this massive children's craft collection, but I'm pretty sure that look was jealousy. Just think how much it would have cost for me to purchase a proper adults weaving loom! Plus, the set contains some nice bright wools, some glittery wool, needles, crochet hook, bodkin, french knitter, beads, and much much more! A perfect gift for a crafty starter - not just a child.

That's all I needed to share for today...apart from a little update on how Kenny's present is coming along...

What could it be?!

Slowly but surely...!

That is all.
